Toñi was born in Madrid (Spain). From an early age, she studied and explored multiple art techniques to become a multidisciplinary artist. From oil, acrylic, ink and watercolour painting to printmaking, ceramics and book illustration, she demonstrates an acute control of drawing and a genuine combination of colours. Toñi worked with Mr. Jose Rincon, a renowned printmaker, for several years, creating printmaking artworks as etching, aquatint, drypoint, additives, linocuts, lithography and photopolymer.

In Spain, after a career in Marketing, Communication and Sales in multinational companies, Toñi developed her artistic project, under the brand “aquafonia”. She took part in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Each art collection was an introspective quest, leading to themes like “Emotions”, “Fearless”, “Silences” and “Resilience". As part of the development of the collections, she published three Art books under the series “woman360”, portraying today's woman who boldly faces her challenging multifaceted life. The latest Art Book was “Resilience” published in Singapore in 2015.

For young children, she illustrated and published two picture books, and produced “Oceani”, an interactive picture book app available in Apple Appstore, Amazon Appstore and Google Play.

In Singapore since 2014, Toñi has held two solo exhibitions at National Library The Pod and the Mireya Marsan Art Gallery and a group exhibition at The Substation. Always eager to experiment and learn new techniques, she has been studying Chinese ink painting under Mr. Phang Weng Kiong, one of the best calligraphers in Singapore.   

Toñi is a firm believer in “emotional art”. She believes life is not easy, but it’s plenty of beautiful precious moments. She believes our mind can be our best friend or our worst enemy. She believes we are all hearts trying to find our place in this Universe. She believes Art has the power to heal, both the painter and the audience.

As Georgia O’Keeffe used to say: “I found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn't say any other way... things I had no words for.”
